Planning Your Stay
Conference Lodging
A limited number of hotel rooms have been reserved for conference
registrants on a first-come, first-served basis. After these rooms have
been allocated, registrants will be charged a reduced conference
registration fee and will be responsible for reserving and purchasing
their own lodging.
Upon registering for the conference, Jennifer Hicks will notify you of your
registration and lodging status. Additionally, if you will be receiving
conference lodging included in your registration fee, Jennifer will contact you approximately one month in
advance of the conference with your lodging assignment.

Conference Meals
Meals will be served in the main
dining room of the Abbott Center. If you have special dietary needs or any
other special needs please inform us in advance and we will do our best to
meet your needs.
Travel Information
The Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport (CHO) is about nine miles north
of the Darden School/Sponsors Executive Residence and is served by US
Airways Express, United Express, and The Delta Connection. Shuttle
service and taxicabs are available outside the baggage area. Cab fare
to the Darden School is approximately $20.00. For more information
regarding the Charlottesville-Albemarle Airport, visit www.gocho.com.
The next closest airports to Charlottesville are the Richmond Airport and
Dulles International Airport. Driving time from Richmond Airport via I-64
West (75 miles) takes about 90 minutes. Driving time from Dulles
International Airport via Route 28 South, I-66 West, and Route 29 South
(90 miles) takes about two hours. Driving time from Washington National
Airport via I-395 South, I-495 North, I-66 West, and Route 29 South (115
miles) is about two hours and 20 minutes. Detailed directions are located
at the end of this information.
AMTRAK serves the Charlottesville area at Union Station, 810 West Main
Street, and is located just three miles from Sponsors Executive Residence. Yellow cab
service is available by calling (434) 295-4131.

Parking
A rental car is NOT needed for your stay. We recommend driving only
if necessary because parking is limited at The Darden School and
transportation is provided to and from your hotel. If you
must bring your car, please obtain a parking permit from the Sponsors
Executive Residence
Gatehouse at check-in that will be valid in the Sponsors Executive
Residence (D-5) lot
only.

Attire
Dress will be business casual for the
program unless noted otherwise in other correspondence.
Fitness & Recreation
Fitness Center at Sponsors
Executive Residence is located on the ground level of the East Wing of
Sponsors Executive Residence,
the center offers equipment oriented towards both aerobic conditioning and
strength/conditioning. It includes exercise bikes, a treadmill, a stair
machine, and a universal weight machine.
North Grounds Recreation Center is located next door to Sponsors
Executive Residence, the main gym floor houses two full basketball courts, convertible to
volleyball and badminton. This facility also contains six racquetball
courts, two squash courts, a fully equipped weight & exercise room, and
locker rooms with showers. Court shoes with white-bottom soles must be
worn in the North Grounds Center. Equipment and towels are available for
rental. When requested, participants will be issued a guest pass valid at
this and all University athletic facilities. The other facilities include
tennis courts, a golf course as well as a newly constructed Aquatic center
that is located 1.5 miles from Darden.
